The KNOW-HUB project

KNOW-HUB bridges the gap of shortage of knowledge, skills and experience of European regions in designing and implementing smart and effective strategies for innovation. The practitioners from 10 EU regions will collaborate in reviewing their policies and practices to identify issues for improvement and good practices to share with others. They will learn together how to apply the knowledge and experience identified in the peer review process, and sharing this knowledge with the aid of modern knowledge management tools.


The European Commission in collaboration with EASME is organising an info-day on the open call for proposais on "Capitalising the full potential of on-fine collaboration". The call is launched under the H2020 - lnnosup -2014-2015 programme (lndustrial leadership pillar) and aims at facilitating the identification of suitable partners for innovation activities with the use of on-line support services.

Biotechnology is among today's most innovative technologies and is a significant driver of economic growth within the bioeconomy. We are now able to produce bio-based products in more eco-efficient and sustainable ways. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) working in the biotechnology field, which are behind much of the innovation and job creation taking place in Europe, are among those harvesting the potential of the bioeconomy. The EU report "SMEs' Participation in FP7 projects in the Biotechnologies Activity" provides a comprehensive overview of the measures taken by the European Commission to encourage SME participation in EU-funded projects within the FP7 activity 'Biotechnologies', and of the opportunities that SMEs found. It updates knowledge on SMEs' profiles, share of funding received, their added value for projects, business benefits, etc.

For the 10th year, PwC's Strategy& analyzed R&D investment at the 1,000 biggest-spending public companies in the world.
